For my friend Talha Ahsan, currently awaiting extradition to the U.S.
Talha, like Babar Ahmad, and others is to be sent to America for trial at the behest of the U.S. government. They have not had the “evidence” against them presented to them and they have languished in prison in the UK for 6 and 8 years respectively uncharged, awaiting this extradition.
In April this year (2012), the The European Court of Human Rights ruled that Talha, Babar and others facing extradition to the US, can be extradited without violating their human rights.
Read Gareth Pierce’s (who represents Talha) article on the extradition process here.
They could be extradited within 2 months.
If you’re in the UK then y0u can help by asking your MP to sign the EDM to amend the extradition laws http://www.parliament.uk/edm/2012-13/128
